Henna Art

Traditional Hands and Feet (16)
Henna is a natural dye, which when mixed into a paste and applied to skin, hair and nails, has a staining quality. Fresh henna in powder form is green. Once it is mixed into a paste and applied to the skin, the paste turns black, which you can see in some of the photos. After the paste is washed off, the remaining stain ranges in color from light orange to dark burgundy, which you can see in other photos. The stain can last up to 3 weeks. The art of decorating the skin with henna is called Mehndi. -
Pregnant Bellies (19)
I love pregnancy, birth and beautiful bellies. It is an honor to spend time with pregnant women, to be close to them and their growing babies, and to decorate their bellies. Often these women feel even more beautiful and want to show off their bellies after i have applied the henna. -
Canvases (7)
These are 12" x 12" canvases. I draw directly on them with the henna paste. The paste dries and sticks to the canvas. $20-35. -
